Meet Dr. Varun Yadav in Sunnyvale

MEET DR. YADAV Hi, I’m Dr. Varun Yadav and I am a general dentist in Sunnyvale, California. I was born and raised in New Delhi, the capital city of India. I immigrated to the United States when I was 10 years old and have been in living the San Francisco Bay Area ever since. I have always been interested in the medical field solidifying my foothold in dentistry in my third year of undergrad. Now, I live in the beautiful city of San Ramon enjoying hobbies such as cooking, hiking the outdoors, and spending time with my family.

My parents have always wanted the best education for me when growing up. I attended Las Positas the community college in the Bay Area and received my degree in Human Biological Sciences from the University of California, Merced. After completing a rigorous post-baccalaureate program, I attended Roseman University of Health Sciences in Utah where I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. My school excelled in the field of general dentistry. Not having specialty programs within the school meant we got to see all the cases that would come through the door. I excelled specifically in the fields of Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics (full mouth rehabilitation cases), and Orthodontics.

In my summer breaks, I would volunteer at non-profit clinics such as the Indian Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma, and the Bright Island Outreach Program based out in the Dominican Republic. While in school, I was advancing my education by taking courses in advanced implantology and grafting techniques. I hope to maintain my continuing education by taking more courses which discuss topics such as cosmetics, sedation, and advancements in techniques/materials used in the dental field.

My dental philosophy is to spread education to my patients. Rather than having the mantra of drilling and filling, I want to get down to the root cause of patient problems. If you are getting a lot of cavities, we should look into getting you an electric toothbrush. If you are grinding your teeth, we should look into getting you a night guard. Prevention is the answer to all things dentistry, even our brothers and sisters in medicine have noticed. I practice dentistry full time now and try to volunteer for non-profit clinics on my time off. I hope to see you in my practice so, we can start working on your dental game plan.
